In line with the objectives of the renewed Lisbon strategy, the i2020 Strategic Framework purports to create a “Single European Information Space” which includes “a common set of regulations that govern the supply of content and services and the operation of networks, regardless of the technology that is being used”2. In such a context, ethics play a vital role by providing the general frame to EU policies.
