Jožef Stefan Institute

Jožef Stefan Institute (JSI) is the largest research institute in Slovenia. In view of its activities and status, JSI plays a role of a kind of national institute, complementing the role of universities and bridging the gap between science and applications. The institute has around 700 researchers, of which more than 400 have doctoral degree. In 2017, the institute was involved in more than 150 H2020 projects, besides other 200+ international projects.

Laboratory for Open Systems and Networks, one of Jožef Stefan Institute’s departments, has rich experience in research and development in the fields of trust, security and privacy, data analytic and forecasting and Internet services. The R&D results include new concepts, techniques, services and approaches. Many of the R&D activities have been carried out in the EU FP funded projects. JSI has good collaboration with academic, governmental, industry, and service organizations in Slovenia. It also has many experiences with dissemination of the results of the projects it participated in, and organization of events, such as conferences, seminars, workshops, and virtual events via video conferences and through social media.
