Tivoli Gardens (or simply Tivoli) is a famous amusement park and pleasure garden in Copenhagen, Denmark. The park opened on August 15, 1843, and therefore celebrated its 175 year birthday in 2018. The park is the second-oldest operating amusement park in the world. With 4.7 million visitors in 2015, Tivoli is the second-most popular seasonal theme park in the world, the most-visited theme park in Scandinavia and the fourth most-visited in Europe. Entertainment has always been a big part of the Tivoli DNA, and the park now holds two indoor venues and four outdoors stages and theatres with an audience capacity from 150 to 25,000. Each year over 1,500 entertainment events are held at the venues and stages. The park is located in the centre of Copenhagen between the city hall and the main train station.
